Ontario City Hall Renovation
City Hall Renovation
Ontario, CA
Total renovation of the 55,000 SF multi-story Ontario City Hall included all new interior improvements, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems; new curtain walls and glazing, expanded main entry and new entry theme structure, new hardscape, and landscaping. Audio Visual updates were designed into the refreshed council chambers. The Project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
The project is notable for the retro-fit of an existing poured-in place concrete structure constructed in 1970’s and modified to accommodate a completely new HVAC system consisting of new air handlers, new HVAC units, ducting and related infrastructure. A daylighting study determined the need for better sun control through a sun shade louver system and the reconfigure of the existing clerestory windows. The expansive 1st floor roof area was redesigned to include vegetative roof top planters as part of the LEED requirements.
